The first address on our list is Mudanya, a charming district in Bursa. We\u2019re not exaggerating when we say it\u2019s close to the city \u2013 it\u2019s about a 95-minute trip via sea bus from \u0130stanbul to Mudanya. Key spots in Mudanya include the Armistice House and the Tahir Pasha Mansion, as well as picturesque Trilye, 11 kilometers from the center and easily reachable within about 20 minutes via minibus. The Halitpa\u015fa neighborhood, also known as Girit Mahallesi or the Greek Quarter, is also alluring, featuring wooden mansions and narrow streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While you’re there, visit one of the seaside restaurants for Cretan-style appetizers and the region’s famous red mullet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sapanca<\/strong><\/p><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Just 11 kilometers from the Bursa city center, this beautiful village in the Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m district features colorful old houses with bay windows. Exempt from reinforced concrete, Cumal\u0131k\u0131z\u0131k satisfies history, architecture, and photography buffs. To start the day in Cumal\u0131k\u0131z\u0131k with a good breakfast, we recommend that you get to your preferred caf\u00e9 before 10.00 \u2013 the village is known for its wonderful breakfasts. And by dining early, you\u2019ll have the whole day to wander the streets and shop!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Princes\u2019 Islands<\/b><\/p><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The beautiful Princes\u2019 Islands, just a ferry ride from the city, are the go-to day or weekend getaway for \u0130stanbulites. The Islands are easy to reach \u2013 which means they can get crowded in the high seasons \u2013 but they\u2019re always lovely, whether you\u2019re sightseeing via bicycle or seeking a leisurely beach day. The four most popular islands are B\u00fcy\u00fckada, Heybeliada, Burgazada and K\u0131nal\u0131ada, and we\u2019ve written a blog about them. And, naturally, there\u2019s food: fresh seafood and traditional appetizers at waterfront restaurants; ice cream and desserts at the cafes and bakeries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We consider Yedig\u00f6ller National Park to be like a heaven on earth. Set within the borders of the Bolu province, Yedig\u00f6ller National Park is popular among campers, especially during the colorful autumn season. As the name (Seven Lakes) suggests, there are seven lakes, most of which have camping areas. There are also hiking and trekking routes, along with fishing facilities \u2013 the Park is known for its rainbow trout. A\u011fva, in \u015eile, is less than a two-hour drive from \u0130stanbul and offers both historical and natural attractions. Our favorite A\u011fva sights are the 12-meter-high Ocakl\u0131 Castle, built by the Genoese; Hac\u0131l\u0131 Village, famous for its caves and waterfalls, and the Kilimli and Kad\u0131rga coves on the Black Sea. Sakl\u0131g\u00f6l is also lovely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0130\u011fneada<\/strong><\/p><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the intersection of Thrace and the Black Sea in northwest T\u00fcrkiye, Igneada is connected to the Demirk\u00f6y district of K\u0131rklareli province, approximately 250 kilometers from \u0130stanbul. The region\u2019s acclaimed Floodplain Forests are worth a visit, as are the \u0130\u011fneada Lighthouse, Dupnisa Cave, and the Fatih Foundry. The ever-present beauty of the Black Sea and its beaches, along with seven beautiful lakes and opportunities for bird watching and trekking, have brought \u0130\u011fneada into the spotlight for \u0130stanbulites seeking getaways close to home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

K\u0131y\u0131k\u00f6y<\/strong><\/p><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our final route is the pretty town of K\u0131y\u0131k\u00f6y, on the Black Sea coast. Like Igneada, Kiyik\u00f6y is in the Kirklareli province, but in the Vize district. K\u0131y\u0131k\u00f6y is surrounded by forests; many local residents are involved in forestry and fishing. However, the real owners of the K\u0131y\u0131k\u00f6y forests \u2013 composed of larch, black hornbeam, and beech trees, are its beautiful animal inhabitants, which include roe deer, wild boars, foxes and badgers. Let us remind you that each of these animals is under protection. On your visit to Kiyik\u00f6y, stop by the Aya Nikola Monastery, the Kiyik\u00f6y Limon Bath and the Kiyik\u00f6y Mosque.
