The 52nd \u0130stanbul Music Festival begins!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The 52nd edition of the annual \u0130stanbul Music Festival, sending magical melodies into the skies of \u0130stanbul every year, takes place between May 21 and June 12. Hosting distinguished orchestras and important soloists from around the world, this year’s festival theme is \u201cK\u00f6kler (Roots<\/em>)”.\u00a0 Aiming to convey the cultural and historical stories of our common geography on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the population exchange between T\u00fcrkiye and Greece, the festival will also host Culture Years events, celebrating the centennial anniversary of relations with Hungary and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saz ile Caz<\/em> (Saz and Jazz<\/em>) by Ara Dinkjian and \u015eenay Lambao\u011flu<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u015eenay Lambao\u011flu, an original voice of the jazz world, and oud player Ara Dinkjian interpret works that have left a mark on different geographies. From Omar Khayyam to A\u015f\u0131k Veysel, and from F\u00fcr\u00fc\u011f Ferruhzad to Gomidas, the duo perform evocative versions of works composed by poets and folk bards. The concert, an unmissable May event, will be held on May 15 at the CRR Concert Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teredd\u00fct \u00c7izgisi<\/em> (Hesitation Wound<\/em>) is coming to theaters<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Making its world premiere at the 80th Venice Film Festival, Selman Nacar’s latest award-winning film Teredd\u00fct \u00c7izgisi<\/em> (Hesitation Wound<\/em>) will be released in theaters on May 3. Written and directed by Selman Nacar and starring T\u00fclin \u00d6zen, the film depicts the story of the lawyer Canan, who is forced to confront her own conscience on the day that her client, who she believes to be innocent,\u00a0 is sentenced for murder.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nil\u00fcfer in Ankara on May 3<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Released on April 19 and inspired by old Nil\u00fcfer songs, Kara G\u00f6z\u00fcn\u00fcn Hasretiyle<\/em> was written by Mabel Matiz for the artist. Nil\u00fcfer will perform in Ankara for the first time with her latest single. The concert takes place on May 3 at TED Ankara College Performing Arts and Performance Center.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KINO 2024 selection from the Goethe Institut<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Goethe Institut is bringing current and prominent examples of German cinema to Turkish audiences. The screenings at the Cinematheque\/Cinema House will take place between May 2-5 and includes productions such as Her \u015eeyin Teorisi<\/em> (The Universal Theory<\/em>) and Dirsek<\/em> (Ellbogen<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

27th Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival in Ankara May 9-16<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The 27th edition of the Flying Broom (U\u00e7an S\u00fcp\u00fcrge<\/em>)International Women’s Film Festival, which sets out with the mission of making women’s stories and women’s labor in cinema visible, will be held on May 9-16. The festival can be followed at now known as K\u00fclt Kavakl\u0131dere, formerly known as Kavakl\u0131dere Cinema, a setting that holds an important place in the hearts of Ankara residents.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One-act Tebdil<\/em> on stage<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Tedbil<\/em>, written and directed by Ali Sami \u00d6zbudak and focusing on the showdown between twin brothers from different worlds, can be seen at Pops Balat on May 6-14 and 20. The 100-minute play starring Murat \u00dczen, Erkan Akbulut, Fehmi Karaaslan, G\u00fcl\u015fah F\u0131r\u0131nc\u0131o\u011flu and \u00d6zge Borak is among the highlights of May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IO International Theater Festival hosts Soir\u00e9e<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Named after IO, one of the most important characters in Greek mythology, the IO International Theater Festival continues. Debuting in \u0130stanbul on May 5, the festival hosts Soir\u00e9e<\/em>, an international masterpiece combining theater and dance, choreographed by Bozsik Yvette.
