At first, EGO provided electricity and bus services; over the years, both electricity and natural gas provision were transferred to other institutions and, today, EGO operates Ankara\u2019s main bus and rail systems, as well as its transportation planning services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The AnkaraKart<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The AnkaraKart is a contactless smart card used for all public transportation vehicles connected to EGO. You can purchase an AnkaraKart at kiosk devices, dealers and Card Processing Centers throughout the city. Card Processing Centers are located in the K\u0131z\u0131lay, Akk\u00f6pr\u00fc, Dikimevi and Be\u015fevler neighborhoods, as well as at the EGO Headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are various types of AnkaraKarts but, for visitors to the city, the \u201cFull\u201d and \u201cSingle Pass\u201d AnkaraKarts are the most useful. The former is a reusable card that can be topped up with Turkish lira at dealer kiosks or at SmartBanko or MiniBanko devices. The latter is a disposable card that is good for a single ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><p><b>Minibuses and taxis<\/b><\/p><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Minibuses and taxis are also available in Ankara. Bus stops have signs indicating the routes and schedules of the buses. The bus network is complemented by the city\u2019s rail systems, which include the metro and commuter trains. Offering fast and comfortable urban transportation, rail systems are frequently preferred by both residents and tourists. We describe the city\u2019s rail system in more detail below, but you can click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ego.gov.tr\/en\/sayfa\/1075\/rayli-sistem\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">here<\/a> to see a map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><p><b>Ankara\u2019s metro line<\/b><\/p><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Ankara\u2019s metro system has four routes:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>M1:<\/strong> Bat\u0131kent- K\u0131z\u0131lay&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>M2: <\/strong>K\u0131z\u0131lay- \u00c7ayyolu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>M3: <\/strong>Bat\u0131kent-<strong> <\/strong>OSB-T\u00f6rekent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>M4: <\/strong>K\u0131z\u0131lay- \u015eehitler<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><p><b>Ankaray<\/b><\/p><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ankaray line originates at the A\u015eT\u0130 Intercity Bus Terminal and runs through Be\u015fevler, Tando\u011fan, Maltepe, K\u0131z\u0131lay, Kurtulu\u015f and Dikimevi. Transfers are available to the M1 and M2 metro lines at certain stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><p><b>Ba\u015fkentray Suburban Train<\/b><\/p><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ba\u015fkentray serves the Sincan-Kaya\u015f line. The 36-kilometer line has a total of 24 suburban stops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><p><b>Ankara\u2019s cable car<\/b><\/p><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ankara\u2019s cable car, known as the T1 line, serves the Yenimahalle-\u015eentepe route, starting from the Yenimahalle metro station and providing transportation from the air all the way to the \u015eentepe center. Transfers to the M1 Metro line are also available at the Yenimahalle station. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb;color:#ebebeb\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><p><b>Transportation to Ankara Esenbo\u011fa Airport from the city center<\/b><\/p><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ankara Esenbo\u011fa Airport is located approximately 30 kilometers from the Ankara city center, on the borders of the \u00c7ubuk and Akyurt districts. The airport is served by EGO-operated bus number 442, as well as the municipality\u2019s BelkoAir buses. The BelkoAir buses operate from 05:30-21:30 hours, with the A\u015eT\u0130 Intercity Bus Terminal as the first stop.
