Spanning the river is the beautiful Uzunk\u00f6pr\u00fc, the longest stone bridge in the world. Set in Edirne\u2019s Uzunk\u00f6pr\u00fc district, the bridge was erected during the reign of Sultan Murad II and designed by architect Muslihittin Bey.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current length of the Uzun K\u00f6pr\u00fc is 1,272 meters and, after various renovations, its width now reaches 6.90 meters. It features plant and animal motifs on its piers and arch keystones, as well as power symbols. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb;color:#ebebeb\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>The Varda (German) Bridge &#8211; Adana<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Karaisal\u0131 district of Adana, this historical bridge was built by the Germans in 1912, hence the name. Completing the Istanbul-Baghdad-Hejaz Railway line, the bridge held an important role in rail and road transport at the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Featuring the steel lattice stone knitting technique, the Varda Bridge ascends a steep slope. It is 172 meters long and 99 meters in height.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb;color:#ebebeb\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><i>Ortacalar Double Bridges <\/i><\/b><b>(Ortacalar \u00c7ifte K\u00f6pr\u00fcler) &#8211; Artvin<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"784\" height=\"523\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.turkishairlines.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/cifte-kopru-artvin-.jpg\" alt=\"\u00c7ifte (Double) Bridge\" class=\"wp-image-41290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.turkishairlines.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/cifte-kopru-artvin-.jpg 784w, https:\/\/blog.turkishairlines.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/cifte-kopru-artvin--300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.turkishairlines.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/cifte-kopru-artvin--150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blog.turkishairlines.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/cifte-kopru-artvin--768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.turkishairlines.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/cifte-kopru-artvin--696x464.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 784px) 100vw, 784px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00c7ifte (Double) Bridge, Artvin.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Consisting of two arched pedestrian bridges perpendicular to each other, the \u00c7ifte Bridge is among T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s most well-known historical bridges and considered one of the most magnificent historical monuments of the Eastern Black Sea region. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set in the lush green Arhavi district in Artvin, about 2.5 kilometers from Ortacalar village, the bridge is believed to have been erected in the 18th century.  \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb;color:#ebebeb\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Irgand\u0131 Bridge &#8211; Bursa<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Built over G\u00f6kdere, the Irgand\u0131 Bridge which connects the Osmangazi and Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m districts of Bursa is one of T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s most-visited historical bridges. Erected in 1442, the arched bridge, designed to accommodate the guild system of the period, served as a trade center with a bazaar, a mosque and stables. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, the picturesque Irgand\u0131 Bridge still features a market with traditional handicrafts and is a popular tourist destination.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb;color:#ebebeb\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><i>Curved Bridge<\/i><\/b><b> (Kesik K\u00f6pr\u00fc) &#8211; Sivas<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the old Sivas-Kayseri road in Central Anatolia, the Curved Bridge spans the K\u0131z\u0131l\u0131rmak River. Formed by the merger of two cut stone bridges, the first bridge consists of seventeen pointed and round arches, while the second bridge features two round arches. Known as \u201cthe world&#8217;s oldest bridge still in use\u201d, the structure was erected during the Roman era. Now an important symbol of Adana, the Stone Bridge has been closed to vehicle traffic since 2006. It is 319 meters long and 11.4 meters wide and offers stunning views of Adana. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb;color:#ebebeb\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Malabadi Bridge &#8211; Diyarbak\u0131r<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Approximately 23 kilometers from Diyarbak\u0131r\u2019s Silvan district, the Malabadi Bridge spans the Batman Stream. Erected during the Artuqid period, the Malabadi Bridge is known as the bridge with the largest arch span in the world \u2013 a 40.86 meter-wide arch span. The bridge is 150 meters long and seven meters wide and features a number of reliefs, many of which have been restored.  \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide\" style=\"background-color:#ebebeb;color:#ebebeb\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><strong>Suleiman the Magnificent Bridge <\/strong><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>(<\/strong><\/span><b><strong>Kanuni Sultan S\u00fcleyman K\u00f6pr\u00fcs\u00fc<\/strong><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>)<\/strong><\/span><b><strong> &#8211; \u0130stanbul<\/strong><\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the B\u00fcy\u00fck\u00e7ekmece district of \u0130stanbul, the Kanuni Sultan S\u00fcleyman Bridge, also known as the B\u00fcy\u00fck\u00e7ekmece Bridge, was built in 1567 on the trade route connecting \u0130stanbul to Europe.
