At 1,850 meters above sea level, Val d\u2019Is\u00e8re, in the Savoy region, is the highest town in France. The town has a fairytale appearance in the winter months, with houses nestled into the snowy foothills of the French Alps.\r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Val d\u2019Is\u00e8re offers a range of ski tracks for beginners and professionals as well as ice skating and sledding facilities. Open five months of the year and featuring long off-tracks, the ski center has comfortable resting and dining areas.\r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cortina d\u2019Ampezzo, Italy<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Italian Alps in general and Cortina d\u2019Ampezzo in particular are among our favorite ski destinations. This high-end ski resort includes beginner and intermediate ski tracks, along with luxury hotels and upscale boutiques. \r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whistler Blackbomb, Canada<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Whistler Blackbomb is North America\u2019s largest ski resort, with the world\u2019s highest and longest cable car system, and more than 200 tracks suitable for all skill levels. \r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the junction of the Whistler and Blackbomb mountains, the Whistler mountain tracks are ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers, while Blackbomb features steep slopes and challenging trails. The ski season here runs from November to May. \r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reached via the highest railroad in Europe, Zermatt offers ski and other winter sports facilities, along with entertainment, dining and accommodation. You can climb Mount Gornergrat for even more breathtaking views.\r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niseko United, Japan<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Winter sports are extremely popular in Japan and Niseko United, on Hokkaido Island, is the country\u2019s most prominent winter sports destination. Niseko United houses four ski centers and features slopes suitable for all skill levels. In addition, hiking and snowmobile tours are available, along with world-class restaurants. \r\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deer Valley, east of Utah\u2019s capital, Salt Lake City, is one of North America\u2019s most well-known ski destinations, with luxurious facilities and pistes for skiers at all skill levels. Deer Valley also has a sophisticated infrastructure, having hosted a number of International Ski Federation competitions.
