In the 1960s, a private investor purchased the town, intending to establish it as a town near the Bear Mountain ski resort. While that didn\u2019t quite materialize, Pioneertown persisted, becoming an artists\u2019 colony of sorts, with galleries, vintage stores and a saddle maker. Guests come to the Pioneertown Motel to experience the Wild West atmosphere as well as to go horseback riding at the ranches in the area and hike in Joshua Tree National Park and the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve. The property features 19 rooms, a food court, free Wi-Fi, live music, and other amenities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
