Xanthos is a city with two distinct elevations, built on the walled Lycian acropolis by the E\u015fen River and on the larger Roman acropolis to the north. If you are coming to the region from farther away, the nearest airport is Dalaman. The flight from Istanbul to Dalaman takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dalaman Airport is about 45 kilometers from central Fethiye. As you continue toward Ka\u015f, you reach the area around K\u0131n\u0131k. Along the way, you will first see the turnoff for Letoon, and a little farther on, the signs for Xanthos. Because the roughly four-kilometer inner road leading to Letoon and the directional signs on the main road may not always be very clear, traveling by private car or pre-arranged transfer may be more reliable.
