With this account, managed by our writer team, we welcome all who love travel and exploration to enjoy these blog posts. And we gently remind our readers of the delight to be found in 'hitting the road'. As Tolstoy said: “All great literature is one of two stories; a man goes on a journey or a stranger comes to town.”

Visa-exempt travel is a boon due to the relatively lower costs and the advantages of getting on the road within a short time. For Turkish citizens, these countries offer delightful holiday alternatives and, since most are within a few hours’ travel from Türkiye, you can start exploring immediately. Featuring historical sites, beautiful nature and picturesque towns and cities, the following countries await discovery – and you won’t have to wait for a visa.

    Bosnia and Herzegovina

    Mostar Bridge, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Due to their historical background and geographical proximity, the Balkan countries have much in common with Türkiye. Offering visa-free entry to Turkish citizens, Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of these beautiful southeastern European nations.

The country’s name – Bosnia and Herzegovina – comes from “Horion Boson”, which means “land of good people”. Described as “heart-shaped” from the borders drawn with neighboring countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina is among the most visited destinations by holidaymakers choosing to travel to visa-free countries.

If you purchase a holiday package with Turkish Airlines Holidays, you can add a rental car and enjoy independent travel in Bosnia and Herzegovina. You can drive from Sarajevo to Sutjeska National Park, founded in 1962 and the country’s largest national park, and from there to Mostar. Thus, you can explore Bosnia and Herzegovina in its main outlines and get to know the loveliest parts of this country.

    Montenegro

The historic city of Kotor, Montenegro.

One of the most popular routes in the Balkans is Montenegro. While relatively small in size, Montenegro’s natural beauties have a large impact. Offering visa-free entry to Turkish citizens, Montenegro features centuries-old forests and olive trees, the longest beach in the Adriatic, dramatic medieval cities, and plenty of fresh air.

Even a quick trip to Montenegro can include a visit to Podgorica, the capital of the country, and visits to Budva, Kotor, Niksic and Durmitor National Park, respectively, especially if you rent a car along with your Turkish Airlines Holidays holiday package. In addition to Niksic’s Ostrog Monastery, the country’s Durmitor National Park is well worth a visit. One of the most important national parks in the Balkans, Durmitor National Park is a truly special locale. As well, the valley along the Tara River offers magnificent scenery along with extreme sports such as rafting.

If you want to spend a little more time in Montenegro, a visit to Lovcen Mountain and Lovcen National Park, in the country’s southwest region, is in order. During clear days, Italy is visible from the heights of the mountain.

    Serbia

    The natural beauty of Serbia.

The magnificent Danube flows through Serbia and the fish caught in this freshwater river are served in various restaurants and boats along the coast. But Serbia, which offers visa-free travel to Turkish citizens, is also known for its coffee diversity and fine cuisine as well as its history and nature.

After landing at Belgrade Airport, named after the brilliant Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla, you  can tour the Belgrade – Novi Sad – Subotica route in a rental car – which you can easily add to your Turkish Airlines Holidays holiday package. This convenient mode of travel lets you see three important regions of the country at your leisure. An alternate route is Belgrade-Nis-Kopaonik National Park. Kopaonik National Park also features a ski slope, where you can  ski and snowboard in the winter.

    Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

Kyrenia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a terrific destination for a visa-free sea, sand and sun holiday!

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, capturing hearts and minds with its stylish and high-quality hotels, is a true holiday paradise. The  warm Mediterranean climate, lovely beaches and lively nightlife position Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at the top of the list of  visa-free countries.

There are many beaches to explore in the perfect climate of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus; most offer free entry and all are stunning. With the rental car service offered by Turkish Airlines Holidays, these beaches are easily accessible. The most prominent of these beaches are Alagadi, Karpaz Altınkum, Alsancak, and Silver Beach. In addition, many of the upscale coastal hotels have private beaches. Keep in mind though – in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the traffic proceeds from the left lane, unlike in Türkiye.

    Morocco

    Morocco, Africa.

Morocco is less similar to Türkiye in cultural and historical texture than the countries listed above, although it does – like Türkiye – feature four seasons. The summer is particularly hot, so the most ideal time to visit Morocco, in terms of the climate, is between October and May.

If you are envisioning an adventurous holiday in a visa-free country, Morocco is a unique option. Marrakech is a popular tourist destination and, from the city, it is relatively easy to take a desert tour, where you can stay in a camp along the Sahara. Casablanca is also well worth a visit. Morocco’s national languages are Arabic and Moroccan Berber, but many people also speak French.
