    Can Bonomo on the DasDas and Jolly Joker stages with his new songs

    We begin our list of March events with a concert. After a five-year hiatus, Can Bonomo performs songs from his new album Kara Konular at DasDas on March 1 and at Ankara Jolly Joker on March 6. 

    Power and equality: WOW Women of the World Festival

    The British Council, in collaboration with Beykoz Kundura and the UK-based WOW Foundation, will host the WOW Women of the World Festival from March 2-3 in Beykoz Kundura.  The festival’s schedule includes discussions, concerts, workshops and meetings. The WOW International Women’s Festival is one of the must-see events in March.

    An exhibition worth seeing: Untraditional by Ertuğrul Güngör and Faruk Ertekin

    Untraditional, an exhibition by Ertuğrul Güngör and Faruk Ertekin, explores our culture and past. At the Anna Laudel Gallery as of March 1, Untraditional draws from a diverse range of imagery, including early Republican period oil paintings, İznik tiles, traditional women’s motifs and ceramic art, creating new semantic layers through the connection it establishes with modern and contemporary figures. Each work in the exhibition challenges the two artists’ traditional understanding of art and provides the viewer with a unique intellectual experience.

    With the arrival of spring, cultural and artistic events become more colorful.

    Calvino Talks: Calvino/ İnsandan Başka (Other Than Human).

    The exhibition Italo Calvino is 100+1 Years Old!, at Kıraathane Literary House, will be accompanied by a Calvino Talks () discussion. The event, moderated by Elif Kendir Beraha, Armağan Ekinci and Aslıhan Demirtaş, explores various perspectives on Calvino, including scales, spatialities, and disciplines. Calvino is 100+1 Years Old! runs through March 22.  

    Tate Modern selection in İstanbul

    Artİstanbul Feshane showcases a remarkable selection from the Tate Modern’s collection, made possible by IBB. Following stops in Porto and Shanghai, The Dynamic Eye exhibition will be in İstanbul until May 19. Curated by Valentina Ravaglia, the Curator of Displays and International Art at the Tate Modern, Dinamik Göz features works from 57 artists, including Alexander Calder, Frank Stella, Victor Vasarely and Lygia Clark.

    Emin Alper’s first theater production, The Double, in İstanbul and Ankara.

    Emin Alper’s adaptation of the Dostoevsky novel of the same name, The Double (Öteki), his first theater production, premieres in Ankara on March 8. Featuring Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu, Erdem Şenocak, Derya Karadaş and Gökhan Yıkılkan in the cast, the play will be performed at Ankara MEB Şura and can be seen at Caddebostan Cultural Centre on March 16 with two performances; at the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Platinum Stage on March 18; at ENKA Auditorium on March 27; and at Maximum Uniq Hall on March 29.

    The Iron Claw premieres

    The acclaimed The Iron Claw, starring Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White and Harris Dickinson, will be screened at İKSV Galas before its theatrical release. The film is based on the true story of the brothers, who were champion wrestlers. On March 7, the film will be screened at both the Kadıköy Cinema and Atlas 1948.
