One of Netflix’s latest series, an Italian production called “An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts,” features an attractive, astrology-savvy character called Tio. In the series’ first episode, Tio confronts Alice, the female protagonist who believes that astrology is simply nonsense. Kindly, and somewhat compassionately, Tio says, “For those who don’t know, it seems that way.” Meanwhile, this writer smiles ☺
Generation Y: A passion for astrology
The passion for astrology, particularly among members of Generation Y, has been described in respected publications ranging from Atlantic to The Guardian. That Gen Y is the first generation of “digital natives” – that is, the first generation to grow up with the Internet, mobile devices and social media – is believed to be a major factor in this data. Another point: According to a small-scale study carried out by psychologist Graham Tyson in 1982, humans become more involved with astrology during periods of stress. Even those who are not related to the horoscope or planets, while the conditions are more reasonable, cast their vote for Jupiter, when the conditions get worse. These results are not entirely surprising when one considers that millennials came of age during a global recession and social change.
Astro cartography: How can our location affect our lives?
Astro cartography is a sub branch of astrology that purports to connect geography to destiny – in other words, to explain where in the world you will thrive romantically, career-wise and so on. (If this piques your curiosity, conduct some research. You can find a ticket to the optimal destination here.)
Disclaimer: We are not astrologists! But our research on the twelve sun signs and their characteristics gave us some ideas about astrological charts and travel… Let’s get started!
Everything for adventure: Aries, Kaçkar Mountains and Cape Town

Like the ram that represents Aries, an Aries is daring and adventurous, enthusiastic, independent, and courageous. Thus, we invite Aries to Kaçkar Mountains, at 3,932 meters Türkiye’s fourth-highest peak and an important climbing center, and then to Cape Town, South Africa, to continue to the adventure. Starting with the Kaçkar Mountains: The main routes are from the Artvin side and the Rize side. The Artvin route offers relatively easier climbing and views of the Black Sea. The Rize side require is more challenging and preferred by professional mountaineers. A reminder to Aries: Mountains are immovable and all the enthusiasm in the world is no replacement for the necessary training and equipment. Achieving satisfaction usually requires some patience and step-by-step preparation. In this case, the first step is getting to Artvin or Trabzon, the airport closest to Rize.
Further south is majestic Cape Town, bounded by the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Reaching the top of Table Mountain to get to Maclear’s Beacon (a triangulation station 1,086 meters above sea level, used to measure Earth’s circumference) determination) or leaving the city for a wildlife safari could be a satisfying trip for an Aries. Loving to be amazed: Gemini, Eskişehir and Belgrade

Gemini has a well-deserved reputation for being active, quick-witted, humorous, and curious – Gemini observes, perceives and is delightfully astonished. Gemini has been described as inconsistent, but this is not quite the case: Gemini is sincere at all times. If, in the morning, something seems logical, this is fine; if, later in the day, the opposite seems logical, they go with that. As an air sign, Geminis have a young and dynamic perspective. For this very reason, they are an ideal match with compact Eskişehir, in the middle of Türkiye and often referred to as a university city, as well as with Belgrade, a lively city abroad. Eskişehir’s numerous universities ensure that the city is bustling, interesting and youthful, perfect for Gemini; Belgrade, the most populous city in Serbia, does not require a visa, perfect for spontaneous Gemini! Soft as a cloud: Libra, Urla and Paris

If we were asked to describe Libra in four words, we’d say balance, coherence and compromise. Diplomatic and altruistic, Libra is known as a peacemaker, and a seeker of harmony and beauty. For this reason, we would send Libra to beautiful Izmir or to Urla, a bucolic district with many delights: vineyards, country lanes, and delicious local cuisine paired with lively philosophic discussions. In pursuit of secrets: Scorpio, Göbekli Tepe and Oslo

It’s Scorpio’s turn – Scorpio, the detective of the zodiac, instinctively skeptical, a seeker of knowledge. If you’re a Scorpio or close to one, you know that a characteristic of this sign is intense curiosity, as well as a zeal to find out what lies beyond the surface. In Türkiye, Göbekli Tepe is an intriguing destination for Scorpio: the 12,000 year-old site has added entirely new data to our knowledge of human civilization. For more on fascinating Göbekli Tepe, click here.
Speaking of history, Scorpios will also find Oslo, in Norway, another intriguing destination. Settled more than a thousand years ago, Oslo has striking scenery, a thriving arts scene, and some of the world’s best preserved Viking ships. There’s also an entire museum – the Fram Museum – dedicated to Roald Amundsen, one of the first explorers to reach the South Pole. By the way, according to world astrology, countries also have zodiac signs; Norway’s is Scorpio. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not, but it’s worth looking into tickets to Oslo 😊.

Praise for order: Capricorn, Istanbul, and Moscow

We’ll explain about order and Istanbul but, first, let’s describe Capricorn. Represented by the hardy goat, Capricorns are resilient and tenacious, serious and hardworking. Capricorn overcomes obstacles and builds a structure on them. Istanbul is an excellent environment for determined Capricorn: this large, crowded city presents certain challenges but surmounting them is half the fun. Whether you live in Istanbul or are planning a visit, this is a city that rewards persistence! Before you take a tour of the city, check out our quiz on which is your side of the Bosphorus.
As to Moscow: Neolithic remains have been found in and around Moscow and the area certainly has a rich history. Serving as Russia’s capital for hundreds of years, Moscow is notable as a political, economic, cultural, and scientific center. And like Istanbul, Moscow can seem a bit intimidating at first – but is well worth the effort. And well-suited to the resolute Capricorn spirit. A ticket to Moscow is just a click away!
Individualistic and contrary: Aquarius, Bayburt and Berlin

Aquarius is free-thinking, independent, and objective. Stereotyped structures are not for Aquarius; they are disruptors who seek new methods. But humanitarian Aquarius is also known for innovation, which reminded us of the Baksı Museum overlooking Çoruh and set in Bayraktar Village, 45 km from Bayburt. Painter Hüsamettin Koçan followed an Aquarian path, founding a fabulous art gallery in his hometown village “at the top of the mountain”, and drawing the world’s attention to this beautiful region. Also, the rafting route that starts in Bayburt and ends in Artvin is one of the best in Türkiye. For more information, see Türkiye rafting centers.
Abroad, the city that best fits the Aquarian profile is Berlin. Colorful, exciting and dynamic, Germany’s capital is a cultural and artistic center that will satisfy the non-conformist Aquarius. For more on Berlin and getting there, click here.
Belongs to the universe: Pisces, Konya, and Prague

Imaginative, mystical, and romantic, Pisces is known for its protean nature. There is a Turkish proverb which, loosely translated, is “March makes you look behind the door and makes you burn your digging tools.” This means that one cannot be certain that winter is over in March and, if one is not prepared, one may end up burning necessary tools for warmth. In other words, March is fickle. While Pisces may seem insensitive at times, this sign cherishes collective integrity, charity and devotion. Intuitive Pisces has intense emotions. The central Anatolian city of Konya is identified with the Mevlana and has a strong spirituality and an energy that warms the soul. This mystical city is a good fit for Pisces. If you visit Konya, definitely see the Mevlana Museum, the Karatay Madrasa and the Aziziye Mosque.
If you want to venture further, Prague – the “Bohemian princess of Europe” – is the birthplace of Franz Kafka and, fittingly, an artistic sensibility permeates the city. For more information on visiting Prague and buying tickets, just click here.
